Quiet Sparrow Movie Poster
In a fantastical world of men and beasts, there is one voice who must be heard in order to rescue the kingdom from certain demise. There are few who can listen hard enough. This epic and fantastic adventure is reminiscent of Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia with a hint of the Never Ending Story.
Sketches
The poster is intended to show an epic struggle of good and evil. The sketch in the middle was chosen because of the ability to showcase the main character with minimal distractions.
Color
Quiet Sparrow’s color palette was chosen as the poster unfolded. The gold highlights the main character’s hair and the lighting that sets her apart. The blue gives a calming backdrop as it contrasts with the deep red. The world where the story takes place was calm until the conflict brought with it the intensity of war.
Typography
Trajan color was chosen as a epic movie poster font and as a way to highlight the main character. I chose Trajan Sans Pro in order to continue that epic movie feeling without the color attached. Universal Accreditation allowed both the condensed look of all those credits plus the added benefit of the titles once you use it in lowercase. It’s a win win situation!
Digital Versions
On the left, you’ll find my original digital draft. This version was modified due to the “floating” nature of the two fighting figures. They appear to have no lower body. The opacity of the trees is too low in this version as well, creating confusing distraction. The poster on the right needed a few more characters in order to encapsulate industry standard for this type of poster.
Final Version
In the final version, our heroine is showcased in the middle with the spotlight on her. She is surrounded by characters while the battle wages on below. The viewer’s eye is directed from her to the other characters in a circular pattern. The golden colored title highlights her hair bringing you from the heroine to the title and back again.
